Helping our Neighbors
With increasing financial pressure on families and uncertainty of assistance that may lapse, LYFE is asking for donation of grocery store gift cards like Karns and Giant, for families in need. We will work with the school district and Mt. Holly Food Bank to identify those with needs. Gift cards can be dropped off at the office or given to Kathy Bixler or Angie Thomas. If you could make sure amount is marked somewhere, that would be appreciated. As always, thank you in advance for the Congregation’s support.

Growing in our Community
You are invited to participate in creating a cooperative community garden here at St. John Lutheran Church! The aim of this garden will be to feed people in our area, especially those facing food insecurity. While there will be many ways for folks to get involved, we are currently seeking people to be part of an ad hoc steering committee that will plan and implement the development of the community garden.
If you are interested in being part of this committee, please contact Jane Gillwood (in-person, phone 717-497-4708, or email jgillwood@hotmail.com) by December 1st. We might have an initial meeting in December, if possible. Thanks!
St John - Where Faith Comes Alive for Kids!
From Godly Play for our youngest learners to SJ Kids for grades K–6, we help children experience God’s Word through stories, creativity, and connection. Faith grows best when it’s filled with wonder — and fun! Check our CALENDAR for specific meeting times and locations.
Pick up a copy of the CHILDREN & FAMILY CALENDAR in the church narthex or download a copy here.
Who We Are
St. John is a growing rural/suburban Lutheran church serving the greater Boiling Springs area.
We believe the most important priority of our church is to continue Christ’s mission to make disciples: know Jesus and make Jesus known.
What We Believe
As a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, we believe that we are freed by the grace of Christ to live faithfully, to serve and love our neighbor.
With our hands, we do God’s work of restoring and reconciling individuals and communities in Jesus Christ’s name throughout the world.
Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Virginia Cover has been serving as the interim pastor at St. John since January of 2024. The church is in the process of calling a new pastor. Read our Ministry Site Profile.
