Holy Humor Sunday
For centuries in Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant countries, the Sunday after Easter was observed by the faithful as a day of laughter and joy, with parties and picnics to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Parishioners and pastors played practical jokes on each other, drenched each other with water, sang, and danced. The celebration is based on ancient church fathers writing that God played a practical joke on the devil by raising Jesus from the dead. Easter was “God’s supreme joke played on death.” Early theologians called it “the Easter laugh.” We hope you have fun and laugh a lot during today’s worship service!
Come join in the fun with Magician, Kyle Purnell & uplifting music.
Sunday, April 12th at 9:15 am in the St. John Church sanctuary.

Shining into the New Year
A Wellness Support Group
As we step into the new year, I’m choosing to make small, healthy changes—like cutting back on sugar—and I’d love a supportive community to help those changes stick.
If you’re also hoping to care for your body, mind, and spirit in gentle, sustainable ways, I invite you to join me as we shine into the new year together. We’ll begin by connecting to talk about how and when we’d like to meet, and how we want to move forward as a group.
Interested? Text Teresa Shakespeare at 717-448-0817.
Calling All Sewers!
We Need Stitchers! Take a Quilt Kit Home
Quilt patch kits are cut and ready to go! Take a kit home, sew the quilt top, and return it so our LWR group can layer and tie it.
The quilting ladies meet the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays at 9:15 AM to assemble and knot the quilts.
You can help — even from home. Pick up a kit and start stitching! Kits are located on the table at the rear of the sanctuary.

The raised metal beds have arrived!
The new raised beds have been assembled and are in the process of being filled! We are using a "hugelkultur" method, a sustainable gardening technique that involves filling raised beds with wood, branches, leaves and other organic matter, topped with 8-12" of soil. We hope to plant seeds and seedlings soon!
• We were awarded a $350 grant from the Sister St. Mark Garden Fund! This money will go towards the purchase of the raised beds.
• We are still accepting cardboard (free of tape and stickers) for sheet mulching the garden.
• Thank you to all who have contributed in any way!
