Blessing Bag Donations
LYFE needs some items donated for its Blessing Bags that it delivers to Boiling Springs High School students and their families who need some help. Household donations would be helpful at this time, but in smaller quantities and packages, such as trash bags, tissues, toilet paper, paper plates, dish soap, hand soap, Lysol cleaner, etc. There is a plastic bin at the end of the sign-up table at the back of the sanctuary. Thanks in advance St. John!
The raised metal beds have arrived, the planting has begun!
Community Garden Update:
• The new raised beds have been assembled and are in the process of being filled! We are using a "hugelkultur" method, a sustainable gardening technique that involves filling raised beds with wood, branches, leaves and other organic matter, topped with 8-12" of soil. We hope to plant seeds and seedlings soon!
• We were awarded a $350 grant from the Sister St. Mark Garden Fund! This money will go towards the purchase of the raised beds.
• We are still accepting cardboard (free of tape and stickers) for sheet mulching the garden.
• Thank you to all who have contributed in any way!
