3rd Annual Chili Cookoff
Over 40 people gathered to enjoy chili and an evening of Bingo. Congratulations to Angie Thomas, Dustin Kinn, and MaryBeth Ziegler for winning first, second, & third respectively! $392 was raised for the Youth Fund. Thank you to all who came out for the enjoyable evening!
Mt. Zion Run/Walk Raises Funds for CPARC
The total raised from the Mt. Zion Fun Run/Walk today, benefiting the Churchtown CPARC home, was [total amount]! Of that, $1,460.22 came from our Noisy Offering. We also provided desserts and helped at the registration table. There were 20 walkers, along with a few kids and dogs. It was a beautiful day!
Elevator Roof Repair is Complete!
The roof repair project is now complete and has passed inspection. Thank you to the Support Committee and all the St. John’s church family for your help and support through this process.
History of the Church Organ
The organ at St. John Lutheran Church in Boiling Springs, PA, is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year. On April 8, 1934, Jacob and Nellie Meixel, devoted members of St. John’s, generously purchased the Moller Pipe Organ for the church.
Summer Wrap Up
While many take the summer to relax and recharge, St. John has continued its commitment to serving the community and nurturing growth within the congregation. Here’s a brief recap of some recent St. John events from the summer of 2024.
St. John Supports Village Events
The LYFE committe at St. John Lutheran Church distributes bottled water at two very popular events in the village of Boiling Springs. One is Foundry Day, a Juried Fine Art & Craft Show held in early June and the other is Anything Floats, a FUN event held at Children’s Lake on July 4th. Despite the hot weather, both events were well attended this year.
Rummage & Bake Sale Report
This year’s annual Rummage & Bake Sale was a HUGE success! A total of $1,853.50 was raised for the Mt. Holly Food Bank. The remaining items were picked up and will be available at the Carlisle UTurn Sale at the fairgrounds in early June. The truck was FULL! Thank you to everyone for your generous donations of time, money, and goods to make this event possible!
St. John Spring Clean Up
A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the spring cleanup at St. John. Your efforts enable us to maintain the church property at a low cost, allowing more resources to be directed toward showing Christ's love in our community.
Ministry Site Profile (MSP)
St. John Lutheran Church in Boiling Springs is currently in the call process for a new pastor. The ministry site profile has been presented, and we are now awaiting potential candidates.
